Infallible Lipgloss

So this week I am in LOVE with L’Oreal Infallible lip-gloss.

This stuff is so good. I am a mostly stay at home mom of a kindergartener and a preschooler. Lip-gloss really isn’t my top priority. With the Infallible gloss, I can put it on to run a kid to school, do a few errands, accomplish a couple Sue Homemaker things at home, and not need to reapply the gloss before picking up the preschooler for lunch. That is some serious good gloss. It purports some kind of plumping blah blah, but whatever. It sticks to my lips, doesn’t dry them out. I LUUUUV it!!

I have the Nude, Sangria, and Plum color and they really work well with a medium beige skin tone. Not to be confused with the L’Oreal Infallible lipstick (that one has the rectangular, shiny applicator), this lip-gloss is in a more traditional, gloss type package, with a silver top. It runs about $8.00 at Ulta, but you can most definitely get a deal if you watch for it on sale from drugstores. If you happen to see it when you are out and about, give it a try. I think you will really like it.

Brown Sweater

This is one of my favorite outfits for a busy day of running with the kids. It is a long sweater over a soft tee. The long sweater is then over a pair of leggings tucked unto some cute striped socks into my favorite boots. The boots are a great height because the shaft isn’t too high on my shin…theses were hard to find. I wish I would have bought them in black too…damn it. It was a busy day, so I totally forgot my jewels…another damn it. Anyhow, sweater and soft underneath tee are from the Gap (both from their petite line). The belt is my favorite Ann Taylor Loft one, in the brown color. I am surprised that I can do a thicker belt on such a short torso, but I think the heft of the sweater helps make it work. Just goes to show that you really need to take time to experiment in your closet. The leggings and the socks are from Hue (great ones at that…you can find them at Nordstrom rack or even T.J. Maxx sometimes). The shoes are Arturo Chiang which I got from Piperlime.

Free Shipping

Never pay for shipping. There are always ways to get around it. Try searching retailmenot, or see if you can order in store on a special “hotline” phone. I know J Crew has this feature in their store as well as free shipping offered on Landsend items from a Sears store. It just floors me that today clothing stores still demand shipping when, in reality, they probably really need the sale.

Unfortunately, petites are not even included in a store’s items. Both the Banana Republic and the J Crew near me offer no petites in store. It almost forces me to shop online and try to get around the shipping costs. I have called customer service on several occasions to obtain a free shipping code. It can’t hurt to ask!

Finally, if you find yourself becoming loyal to a certain store (I am very loyal to Ann Taylor and the Gap/BR/ON line), think about getting a store credit card. Many times they will offer free shipping or better discounts to their cardholders. This works especially well for the Gap family as I have earned free shipping on all my online purchases.

If all else fails and you just aren’t getting a free ship, a lot of times an online site will offer free shipping with a $150.00 purchase. Just buy some things to add up to $150 and then return the item(s) in a brick and mortar store once you receive your shipment. Just make sure to pick out an item you know you’ll want to return, otherwise you’ll end up spending more then you wanted!!!
