Nordstrom Small Pyramid Studs

I love quick, go to earrings that don't make me think too much. I have a gunmetal version of these stud earrings, but I feel a gold pair would work into my wardrobe as well.

They fit into my life and not too big on my face. Things can overpower very quickly, or just look stupid when your day consists of running errands and taking care of kids. You can find them here.

I feel I need to take a moment and mention I need to clean out my closet. Now, since I have said it somewhat publicly, I'll do it, right? It is a mess. And I don't really know what I have in there. It will be an all day, try the shit on, make piles and all that jazz. Sigh.....

Old Navy Petite Boat-Neck Sweater

This is a new little gem in my arsenal...

It's a cute (ohhhh, 100% cotton!) boat neck sweater from Old Navy. I got it in the black and white stripe in a medium petite. I wanted it slouchy and comfy for running errands in. Here it is on me.

I like it a lot and am considering ordering it in the striped tan and white. You can find it here on sale for 20 bucks.
Off to order another one! I talked myself into it.....

Deux Lux 'Juno' Clutch

I've noticed a hole in my clutch collection...yellow. So, of course I pop over to Nordstrom and find this:

You can find it here.

I like the size and the color is just what I am looking for, but there is a problem. The price is a little high for faux leather. So, I think I will stalk it for a while and see if the price drops. Crosses fingers.....

French Terry Tie Waist from Loft...OOTH

I kind of forgot what I wear when the weather cools. Then, I remembered I had this cute dress from Loft which I bought in the spring.

It's comfortable and easy to wear while tending the children. I threw on a boyfriend cardigan from the Gap petite line and my ancient Ann Taylor leopard print flats (love em!)

I just ordered some cropped Capri leggings from Kohl's as I remembered I needed them last spring during the 60-70 degree days. I could have used them as the day was really too chilly for bare legs!

Gap Pure Raglan Sweater

I wanted to try the Gap Pure line so I decided to order this sweater.

It's a good fit for a small petite and I like the shape and length of it on me. I just don't like the price as it is very thin...same old story. I am keeping it, because it should work in these next few transitional months of weather. Don't buy it full price, but nobody does that with Gap, right?

You can buy it here.

Here it is on me! The color is actually a deeper purple blue, my iPhone just takes junk pictures, but you get the idea. The ankle pants are the wool J Crew Minnies and the shoes are Ann Taylor Loft wedges.

Cute and perhaps slightly sexy? I'll take it!

Corso Como Fabienne

So, the big deal this fall is oxblood, burgundy, and wine colored accessories. I was poking around Nordstrom's website, as I am apt to do, and I found these these darling flats.

I need these. They are the Corso Como Fabienne flat in wine. You can find them here. What I love about them is that they have a zipper, not a cutesy bow. And every pair of Corso Como shoes have been way comfortable. Win/win. I think they would like perfect with black cigarette pants and a gray light weight sweater to transition into fall.
I'll report back when they land on my door step.

Another addition from Etsy

I purchased this necklace recently from the seller Edor on Etsy.

Again, perfect size, just the right amount of flash to an outfit. I had her make is in the 16.5 inch length and I love how it layers with a 15.5 inch necklace above.

She has no idea who I am, I just am in love with her items! Check out Edor!

French Terry Moto Jacket from Gap

Ahhhhh, I know this was going to be a winner.

I also knew Gap was pulling shenanigans by removing this item during Friends and Family. Well, I stalked this and got it in a medium petite. Glad I did because it is a bit snug on the chest, but nice elsewhere.

Little blurry, sorry about that, but the fit is really good, can trend boxy, but not too bad...worth trying to find either in store or it may pop back up online again. When I just checked online, the petite sizes were gone. But you and me both that doesn't mean it's gone for good. Humph.

One more closer shot, not great, but you get the idea. Hope it cools off soon!
I can see this looking super cute with snugger fitting ankle jeans, a striped tee, and metallic or even ox-blood colored flats.
Hurry up fall!

Etsy Love...Delicate, Minimal Jewelry from Edor

I have been shopping a bit on Etsy here and there and have found some wonderful things. Recently I've tried this minimalist jewelry artist, Edor, and love how her items look. I just ordered this tiny dot necklace.

It was only 20 dollars and I feel fits my frame perfectly, not too overwhelming or fussy, just simple. I love it and have been wearing it ever since I received it in the mail. I love it so much I just ordered another one...

Looking forward to seeing this show up soon!

I also need to state, this Etsy seller has no idea I have posted her work on my blog, I just really like her products.

Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66

These sneakers are great! I always end up with new things for myself at back to school time and this year is no exception.

These are the Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 sneaker and they are just cool. I got them from Nordstrom.

I have been looking for an easy go to sneaker for running errands and walking back and forth to school in the next few months. They can go with crops and shorts while it is still warm and then on to jeans as the weather cools.

The colors are pink and navy, so cute! I love them so much, I ordered a white and green pair for my husband!

These are from Nordstrom also AND on sale! But he can't wear them when I have mine on!

Gap Terry Moto Jacket

I really wanted to order this Terry Moto Jacket from Gap during the Friends and Family sale.

I wanted it the black medium petite, but once the sale hit, all the black petite sizes were gone. So one of two things happened...perhaps I was very spot on in guessing this jacket is perfect, and that very well could be. Or, Gap pulled all the black petites and they will pop back up on Monday, when the sale is over. As much as a hope the second scenario is true, that is a shitty way to do business, Gap. I guess I just have to tune in tomorrow and see.

Glittery Naturino

Okay so this is really supposed to be a grownup space, but I have been so focused on finding my daughter's shoes, I'd thought I post what I finally settled on for her first day of kindergarten! She is in an age of hard to find cute foot wear, so I was happy to find this darling blue glittery pair from Naturino

She loves them and she is so excited for school to start!

And here is the outfit of the day from me:

It is a sundress from a few years ago from Ann Taylor, my Fiona wedges from Kork Ease and, most importantly, one of my Hanes Barely There Bandini bras to keep everything under control.

These things are the best at keeping me covered, but not adding a ton of extra fabric on a hot day. Find them here on Hanes..

School is Starting Soon! Celebrate with Onitsuka Mexico 66

School is starting in a few weeks and I have been hard at work getting the kids ready! Shoes for my little girl has proved to be very difficult. You would not believe all the shoes I've ordered for her and am sending back!
I did order a few things for myself from the Nordstrom sale...but I didn't keep very much.
The most fun item I found is a pair of new sneakers for me! Onitsuka Mexico 66

These are super cute with ankle jeans and full length jeans as well. I have been looking for a new pair of comfortable shoes for the fall and I think these will fit the bill! Aaannnnddd of course they were not on sale at all. Look for them in my outfits of the day coming up! Right now I feel like all I wear are skirts and tee shirts or plaid shorts and a tank. So sick of it. When the kids are safely tucked away at school, I am looking forward to putting more effort into creating cute and casual daytime styles. It is such a difficult balance between looking presentable, but not over done.

Kate Spade Gumdrop Earrings and Tinley Road Earrings

I have fallen in love with bigger stud earrings. I am currently collecting Kate Spade's Gumdrop Studs.
I want a pair in every color...right now I am working on getting the pink! I have just a few pairs now, but I am finding I wear them all the time. Now I want more! I like how they are big enough to peak out from under my hair...

I also have been wearing a few pair from Tinley Road.

The Tinley Road pairs are pretty inexpensive and just fun! The champagne colored triangles are on clearance on Piperlime now for less than $8.00!!!!

Fekkai Beach Waves

This did not work for me...I have fine wavy hair that has quite a bit of color processing in it. I was looking for sexy, tousled waves for summer. Unfortunately this product made my hair just kind of sticky and messy...but not in a cool way. The one day I used it, my husband asked why I hadn't combed my hair that day! I did try it on dry hair, on damp hair, and even before I wrapped my hair up in a sock bun. It just isn't a good product for me. I think if you have thicker hair with less damage, this might really make for some sexy, summer hair. Back it goes today to Ulta.

Crocs A-Leigh Wedge

You must think all I do is buy shoes! Well, kind of...
I just found these on ZAPPOS.

Once again I am very impressed with the comfort level of Crocs! These are perfect for the run around days when a flip flop is just too casual. The color above is the cocoa color, but they are also available in black. I am seriously considering getting them in black as well. The peep toe at the front may be a bit too big for some. It almost makes this shoe matronly, but the comfort level negates any grandma vibe for me. I love them!

Too cute! I think I am going to get a lot of wear out of them for the remaining part of summer...

Audrey Brooke Lisa Pump from DSW

My reunion was this weekend...it was meh, but I think the dress and shoes were great! In all the hubbub of a busy weekend with family in town and the reunion, I forgot to take a picture of the dress (I wore the blue one from BCBG) which I will post later this week (I ran it to the cleaners).
But the shoes were perfect! I finally found a pair that were a great color and great shape, the Lisa Pump from Audrey Brooke.

These worked will because they are a bronze color. I was struggling finding a nude warm enough for my skin this time of year. And, I have a bad habit of buying shoes with ankle straps. I LOVE ankle straps, but they really can cut my leg, making it look shorter. I am no longer buying shoes with ankle straps...well, I will try.
This sling back style really helped lengthen my leg. I also thought the cut outs were very feminine.

And the best part? $35.00 at DSW in store...even cheaper online! Still plenty of these are available, grab a pair. I think through the years I will be surprised how many times I reach for them!

Backup Plan

My reunion is tomorrow and I am still working on what to wear...here are two of my back up outfits...

While these look fine and will do the job, I feel like I'd like something new and fun! The ancient orange dress will probably be the one to make it out the door, if the BCBG dress doesn't work out. I need to get moving and try some more things on!

Just as a side note...I am shocked at how much I really dislike regular in store shopping now! I was able to get out without the kids and shop earlier this week. I am finding I don't like driving there, don't like the crowds, and I can't find my size. I am really becoming accustom to shopping at leisure at home, ordering with free shipping, trying it on with my shoes in my own bedroom, and shipping it back for free if it doesn't work out! Nordstrom, Piperlime, and Zappos have my heart.

Very Volatile Karma Wedge Sandal

Oh well, these did not work out. Wrong color and a bit cheap looking. You can see where it is gapping a bit around the footbed where the sole is glued. For a younger woman, these may fit the bill, but not for me. The combination of the off color against my skin and the overall look of it makes it a pass for me. I am not crazy about the strap placement over my foot. On to the next thing, I am running out of time!

They look adorable in this picture, they are just not for me!

20th reunion....what do I wear?!?

My twentieth reunion is coming this weekend and I swear I have nothing to wear! This is the part of being a hard fit which I hate. I can't just stroll into a few stores and find a perfect fit...it is so frustrating.
Part of the problem is that it is at a place called Dave and Busters, kind of like a grownup Chuck E Cheese....sigh. So I have to balance looking fantastic with a kind of dressed down venue. I have put together a few things from my closet which I will post ASAP, but I also ordered a couple things from Zappos too. I had to pick Zappos because of their fast shipping. I tried ordering a few things from Nordstrom while we were vacationing, but it all turned out to be a disaster. Not even posting those things!
So I am trying these shoes, Volatile wedge from Karma.

I am trying these in natural color since my skin is pretty tan now and my other wedges are a bit light for my skin right now. I need a long leg line!
I also on a whim ordered this BCBG MaxAzria dress.

I don't know, it may be too dressy, but I thought I would give it a shot. I should have everything by Thursday so I can assemble and make a decision what to wear soon! Pictures coming soon!

Problem solved...Athleta Printed Shorebreak Dress

I was having a problem with my Shorebreak dress from Athleta....too much cleavage! So I tried putting one of my Bandini bras underneath and ta da! No more too much ta ta!!!

I really wish I didn't have to use these, but it is just to much showing if I don't have this little Bandini on...the link above even takes you to a website where they are on sale! I love 'em!!!

Paige Wristlet

My new Paige Wristlet came from Banana Republic!

I love it! This is the cognac color and it is a very nice neutral to use year round. The size will fit easily my iPhone, keys, and wallet, yea! I may be able to also slip in a lip gloss or two...just enough for when I am traveling light. The one thing I am not too crazy about is that the leather is a bit rough, you can tell this isn't the most expensive clutch, but it isn't something super fancy, just something for running around town doing quick errands. I am going to see how much I use it in the next few weeks and then maybe see if I want to pick it up in the orange or blue if it goes on sale...begin stalking mode!

I also was able to order these earrings on sale too:

Unfortunately these are no longer available online, but I was looking for a touch of color to wear here and there and these are so much prettier then I expected. I really like the copper colored metals paired with the turquoise stones. The circle size is about the diameter of a half dollar, so a nice size to peak out from under my hair. I look forward to getting on the ball and doing more outfits of the day! Well, first I have to break out of my tank top and plaid short uniform...It's just been so hot.

Kokomo Dress

I recently received this dress in the mail.

It is the Kokomo dress from Athleta in the size medium petite. I even ordered up a size and it still is pulling a bit across my chest. (sigh). It is really cute, the built in support is comfortable...it's the fabric across the chest that is a bit small. And the color, vivid blue, is gorgeous! It is a bit more of a deeper cobalt then the picture shows, I love it.

I am really thinking hard about this one. I am just not sure I will be keeping it. Besides the slight fit issue, I am not sure where to wear it. It is perfect for a vacation, but in everyday life, the neck line might be too dressy, for lack of a better word, for say...the supermarket. It may be going back. The nice thing about ordering from Athleta is that they are very flexible with returns, so there isn't too much pressure to get it back right away...but I will make a decision soon.

Paige Wristlet

I just ordered this.

This is the Paige Wristlet from Banana Republic in the cognac color. I am a big sucker for a wristlet while running errands and have been looking for a nice neutral one for a while. When it popped up on sale on the BR site, I pulled the trigger. I hope the leather and the size are nice!

Athleta Printed Shorebreak Dress

I just got the Athleta Printed Shorebreak Dress in the mail. You can find it here.

The color I got is the tidal blue in the regular size medium. It works pretty well for length, this dress wasn't offered in petites, but it seems to be okay. It might be just a little bit long, hitting right at my knees. The only thing I wish was different is that while the supportive top is great, the coverage is a touch too low and depending how much I shift around, shows a lot of cleavage...not really what I want. But the print is so cute and it is perfect for hot days watching the kids splash around in the pool. The fit around the hips is perfect, skimming, but not too tight, that part I love.

Honestly, I am not sure I will keep it. It is almost perfect, but I really have to ask myself if I will wear it a lot, or just try it on and put it back because it just isn't as covered as I like on my chest.

Born Zee Sandal

I recently bought these from Nordstrom.

The picture above is in the color I got, Pebble Taupe. I like them a lot, they are very comfortable, even with a good sized wedge. Apparently this style from Born is a Nordstrom exclusive, so you have to get them from there. I just am hesitating from wearing them out because I just don't know if they fit my life style right now...hmmmmm. Here are a few more pictures:

They look super cute with some of my longer skirts, but I don't know how much wear I'll get out of them. Maybe I'll keep them until the late summer, then the kids will be in school and I'll see if I wear them more naturally when the kids aren't a big part of my day. I also like the raspberry color too...those I may stalk for a sale!
