Busy day with a shoe change

Today while the kids were at school, I was able to met a friend for coffee.  This kind of day is my challenge of dressing everyday.  I am petite, so it limits my options, and I am going from casual coffee dates to walking back and forth to school and hanging out in the neighborhood in the afternoon, with the potential to get a bit messy outside.  So this is what I wore today:

The sweater is a regular small from the Lands End Canvas line, on sale here Lands End Canvas Cotton Cashmere Sweater.  The Canvas line is great because it isn't too long/overwhelming on my shorter torso and they are still offering cotton and cashmere, not all poly and rayon...which I am sooooooo sick of the cheap fibers.  This sweater is soft and well made and a bargain at $24.00.  The rest of the outfit are Curvy Jeans from Ann Taylor, petite size 6.  Give AT jeans a try, they are great and I love the fit of them.  The leopard print shoes are from a few seasons ago at Ann Taylor as well, but I continue to love them.

Of course when it is time to get the kids, I change into my new Crocs.  I wore them the first time today and now I get the Croc love.

They are super comfy, cute, and I can rinse them off if I step in a muddy puddle.  Brilliant!!!
Here they are on before I leave for school.  I just rolled up the pants so you could see them, I rolled the pants back down before I left the house:

So happy with them!  I really might have to get another pair in a fun color.....

These are Crocs???

I walk to and from school to get my son...now that spring is on the way, I am always looking for shoes I can wear that won't get totally messed up.  Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would wear Crocs until I saw Crocs Kadee.

They came over the very busy weekend, so tomorrow I hope to post a picture of them.  They are super cute, but do run a bit large.  I played it safe by purchasing them in the brown, but I just saw Piperlime has them in a pretty blue and pink, so I may have to pick up a second pair.  I got them for $30.00, so not a bad deal.  I am excited to wear them soon!

This is better

I did get it together today.

I wore this:

This is a Lands End Canvas longer sweater Slub Cowlneck Sweatshirt marked down to 16.99(not petite, regular size small) paired with Ann Taylor curvy jeans in size 6 Petite.  It can sometimes be advantageous to be short waisted because the item can sit lower on your hips/thighs and you can pair it with skinnier pants.

The boots are from Nordstrom house line BP.  I love these boots, I have them in brown and black.  They are the perfect height, I love them and wear them all the time.   Unfortunately, these are long gone.  I am very thankful to have picked up the two pairs I got.

I am going to continue to keep trying to work on my styling of outfits.  I really try to coordinate form and function as I run from place to place on very busy days.  I was, however, completely missing any accessories, didn't have enough time in the AM!

Walk on the Mild Side

Well, I was on the fence about ordering colored denim, but Gap came through and had a 30% off deal.  So, I bit the bullet and ordered these jeans in lilac

and this sweater to go with them, from Gap as well:

but in the cream color.  I wanted the sweater to be a bit longer, so I opted for the regular length in a small (reviews stated it was running short) and I got the jeans in my regular size 6P.  I have no idea if I am going to be comfortable wearing colored jeans, so I thought I would walk on the mild side and then see if I want to amp up to shocking candy pink...we'll see.

Oh my Lord, I am really wearing this...

Sometime life just dictates an extremely low key outfit.  I am PROMISING myself I will step it up once my son's birthday madness is over.  I had some downtime on President's Day and wore the outfit (loosely called) below.  I struggle everyday with what to wear as a SAHM who does a lot of running around.  I see a lot of people, but I hate to look like I am trying too hard.  Welp, I didn't look like I was trying to hard yesterday!

Seriously, the only nice thing to say about this look is that the top is from kohls.  It is a nice cotton cowl neck which can also turn into a hood.  I found it in the active wear section online under the yoga wear. Other than that, kind of a yuck day.  The black pants are from Target, where you can find petite sizes in store, which is great, especially when they are on sale.

yep, I am definitely going to try harder tomorrow!  I am right now looking for a good sale at the Gap to get some colored denim and cream slouchy sweater...hope they hurry up and offer a deal.  We'll see how brave I am with the colored denim...I don't know if I can do screaming blue, maybe pale violet.....
